Arujá Golf Club is an 18-hole, par-72 golf course in the state of São Paulo, Brazil. Open to visiting golfers.
The Arujá Golf Club is one of the most traditional Golf Clubs in the São Paulo region. Designed and built for the Japanese community that lives in the state of São Paulo. The layout of the course, varying between relatively flat holes and others with extreme elevation changes holes, demands an array of golfing skills. You can see a video of each of the 18 holes on the Arujá Club homepage. It perfectly helps you get an impression of the golf course and its layout.
It is no coincidence that Arujá is home to several top Brazilian professional golfers, like Acacio Jorge Pedro. He was leading in the PGA do Brazil ranking for several years.
Traditional tournaments at the Arujá Golf Club
The course has been the venue of major tournaments, such as the LG/Vivo PGA Championship, one of the main professional golf competitions in Brazil. Arujá Open competition is quite traditional as well since it also includes competition among professionals. The Honda Open has been a fixture in the tournament calendar of Brazilian pros and amateurs.
Location and infrastructure
The Arujá Golf Club is located on the Dutra highway from São Paulo to Rio de Janeiro. From São Paulo – Guarulhos International Airport is only about 25 kilometres or a 30-minute drive. If you want something cozy and pompous, you can also land directly behind the clubhouse with the helicopter. The restaurant offers traditional Japanese dishes.
The club has one of the best caddy programs in the region. It is a special experience to play golf with one of them. Not only do they carry the bag, but they help you a lot with course management and on the green. Most have a single handicap and are allowed to play on the course on Mondays.
