Clube de Golfe de Brasilia

Golf Club & Course Brasilia

Together with the planning and development of Brasilia, Robert Trent Jones was commissioned to design a golf course at the Parano Lake. Brasilia, the most central point of Brazil, became capital in 1960 and the opening of the Brasilia Golf Club was 4 years later.

Have a look at a satellite picture. The ministeriums, the parliament and the offices of the government are built in a form like an airplane. And the golf course is some kilometers in front of the cockpit. If you are in Brasilia for business or for holidays, sure you have to visit the famous government building. The most famous Brazilian architect Oscar Niemeyer shaped most of the entire cityscape. But a golf lover has also to plan a stop at the Clube de Golfe de Brasilia.

The most fairways run along old trees, the layout with some tricky doglegs and the greens are small. But if you come to the lake the course is more open and you have a great panorama view of the Juscelino Kubitschek Bridge. The best hole for pictures is the sixteenth hole, a short par 5. The green is directly in front of the lake. And the next hole is a long par 3 with the rippling lake beside.

Close to the golf club is the restaurantĀ Almeria Restaurante with MediterraneanĀ cuisine. From the restaurant, you are overlooking the Brasilia Golf Club and the lake with the Juscelino Kubitschek bridge.
