Praia do Forte Golf Club

Located 55 kilometers north of Salvador’s International Airport, and 5 kilometers from Praia do Forte. The Praia do Forte Golf Club is situated in a resort of the Spanish Hotel chain Iberostar. Designed by P.B. Dye, son of golf legend Pete Dye, the lack of trees between fairways and the naturally undulating land, along with its proximity to the sea and the strong and unrelenting wind, leaves no doubt about that. Guests are always welcome.

A great finish along the ocean

The three last holes of Iberostar run along the shoreline, ensuring fascinating sights. And even stronger winds, making the play more challenging. To increase the challenge, the sand bunkers designed by P. B. Dye are deep and numerous. Especially for golf fanatics hitting the ball into one of those bunkers may be their only contact with sand during their vacation despite the proximity of the beach.

In 2019 the back nine holes were switched to Zeon Zoysia grass. This means less maintenance and less water requirements. It is also more resistant to long sunny days and salt water.

The Iberostar Praia do Forte Golf & Spa Resort

There are two hotels in the resort, the Iberostar Bahia and the Iberostar Selection Praia do Forte, both with all-inclusive service. They only differ in slightly larger rooms and better quality offerings in the Selection Hotel.

The entire complex offers excellent local gastronomy at 6 different restaurants and bars. With 5 different pool areas and a large SPA with its own Aliveness program. Therefore are opportunities for everyone to enjoy their vacation.

Otherwise, there is also the kilometre-long beach right in front of your hotel room. Finally, we particularly recommend a visit to the turtle observation station in the nature reserve, where four endangered species of sea turtles are bred.
