15.05.2018 – Daniel Neves represented the Brazilian Golf Confederation – CBG at the Congress of the South American Golf Federation – FSG, held last Friday (11. May 2018). The director of international relations of the national golf maximum entity discussed themes such as the definition of South American venues and dates starting in 2019, and also the creation of a South American Children’s Championship “Mas Golf”. Neves’ trip was supported by The Brazilian Olympic Committee – COB via law Agnelo Piva.
All ten national federations affiliated to the South American Golf Federation gathered at the headquarters of the PGA-Tour in Ponte Vedra, during the organization’s largest golf event. “The work was opened by the main leaders of the PGA-Tour highlighting the presence of the South American countries and their importance in the growth of golf in the region, discussing strategies using success stories” reported Neves. ” Following the day’s order, it was approved the financial reports for 2017, and highlighted the tournaments where we had the representation of the region”
New Members of the Rules Committee were elected at FSG
The new members of the Rules Committee were elected and their terms were extended to four years, in addition to the definition of the South American championships for 2019 management, and revoked the authorization of boards for players from their delegates and coaches, in championships individuals.
Finally, it was discussed the greater interaction between the countries of the region, both in terms of participation in tournaments, as well as in project development, with the participation of PGA-Tour as a collaborator. The next ordinary congress was scheduled for November, during the Copa Los Andes, in Uruguay.

Who is the South American Golf Federation?
The South American Golf Federation (Federación Sudamericana de Golf, FSG) is the umbrella organisation of the national golf federations of South America. It sets the dates and venues of the regional amateur championships, such as the Copa Los Andes, and works with the PGA TOUR on golf development in the region. Brazil is represented by the Brazilian Golf Confederation (Confederação Brasileira de Golfe, CBG), the national governing body for golf in Brazil.
